Just gone fishing...

Men are famously difficult to make cards for, so I was a bit stumped when it came to making my Dad's Fathers Day card (I know I'm a little early lol). I was in my local crafty shop when I found the perfect stamp by Daisy and Dandelion, my Dad likes fishing although he doesn't do it often. So without further ado here is what I came up with:

Papers are from stash, stamp is coloured with promarkers, sorry forgot to note which markers I used. I would like to enter this card for the Charisma Cards challenge which this week is Boy oh boy (cards for boys/men)
Hope everyone has a great bank holiday weekend!

Thank you Teacher card

As I'm looking at selling my cards at school fairs this summer, I decided to have a go at making Thank you cards for teachers. Here is my attempt. Sorry about the photos, I have to get better at taking pics of my cards!

Papers and apple border are a free gift from this months Simply cards and papercraft magazine. Thankyou stamp is Docrafts, bear stamp is Fizzymoon and I printed the sentiment off my computer. I'm quite pleased with it for a first effort and I'll be making some more later =]

A busy weekend

Sorry everyone, its just a quick post tonight! I've had a very crafty weekend, especially yesterday and got a few cards done.

Sorry the pic isn't very detailed, I tried a few different styles of cards and some of them are the same but different papers/colours. I made some more cards today but they are not on the picture cos I took it last night. I'll try to upload them tomorrow. I'm feeling very productive at the moment so I'm making the most of it! The reason I've started mass producing cards is I've decided to take the plunge and start trying to sell my cards. Yikes! I'm thinking of setting up stall at the local school summer fairs and I suppose I can sell to family and friends but I'm a little embarrassed and daunted. So my lovely followers... do you have any advice or tips? Please let me know. Excited and scared in equal measures...

Something a little different...

I tried something different today and had a go at papering a plain wooden jewerly/trinket box. It took me just over an hour and it was a lot of fun, even though I nearly choked on the spray glue, I'll remember to open a window next time!

I used papers from Craftwork Cards, made the flowers using my flower punch and coloured the stamp with Promarkers. I'm going to try putting the box on Ebay later but for now I'm entering it in this weeks Polkadoodles challenge which is: anything but a card!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

18th Birthday cake card

It's my cousins 18th Birthday next month and when I saw this card in Quick Cards magazine I knew it was perfect! So you send the card like this:

Then you pull the stars on the top and it pops out like this:

I still need to find some big numbers so I can put 18 on the bottom panel. I made this card using papers, ribbon and glitter from my stash and I made the bunting from scrap paper, ribbon and stick on letters. The topper is made from strips of acetate and stick on stars.

I'm entering this card for the following challenges:

Crafts and me- Anything goes
Simon says stamp- Sparkle and shine
A spoonful of sugar- Anything goes
Lexis Creations- Spots and stripes

Thanks for dropping by =]

Inchies

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day! This post is maybe a little late as I made this card two days ago and hadn't had a chance to blog until today. This is the first time I've used inchies on a card but I'm really pleased with the outcome so I will be using them again!
I made the flowers using my flower punch and stuck a gem in the middle of each one. I think everything I used on the card was from my stash... The pearls and checky paper are from The Works but I can't remember where the other stuff came from, sorry.

I'm entering this card for the following challenges:
LOTV- Ribbons and bows
Papertake Weekly- Fancy a punch
The Spotlight Challenge- Inchies

Practising with promarkers and a card for charity

I finally got my first Promarkers yesterday and I think I'm in love! It's so much easier than using colouring pencils. When I bought the Promarkers I also bought a copy of Docrafts Creativity magazine which features the Craft for Life appeal in aid of Cancer Research UK. The idea is you make an A6 card of any design, donate it to a Cancer Research UK shop and they sell it on. I think it's a great idea, so heres my contribution:

A peek at the inside
The stamp and sentiment are Fizzy Moon, flowers from Simply Crafts and the leaf on the inside is paper from my stash. I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Divas by design- Anything goes
My time to craft- Red and white
Paper take weekly- Anything goes

Bye for now!

Craft shows and bungie jumps

Hi everyone! I meant to post this yesterday but it was a bit of a crazy day and I didn't get a chance. I went to the Sincerely Yours papercraft show at Gateshead stadium and had a great time. It was well organised and really busy, so busy that I had to follow the cars infront of me and park on the grass at the very back of the huge carpark! I bought loads of cool stuff that I'll be showing off over the next couple of weeks. Sorry I didn't get any pics, I was too busy running from stall to stall!

So after I spent all my money I met up with my family (they aren't craft show people) and we went to the quayside for the charity bungie jump that my brother and cousin were taking part in. They were jumping in memory of my other cousin who sadly was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2009 and they made the family very proud. I'm not brave enough to jump out of a crane (I don't like heights!) at 175ft but it turned out that each jumper was allowed to take a person up in the crane with them so I managed to talk myself into going in the crane with my cousin. I really enjoyed it and weirdly it wasn't scary, although it may have helped that I knew I was coming down in the crane and didn't have to leap out of it with a piece of elastic tied around my ankles! It was brilliant and my cousin Dionne was very brave and jumped out backwards! So here is a pic of my brother bungie jumping (don't tell him I put this on here!)

I'm so proud! =)
